January is National Crime Stoppers Month. On December 21, 2007, President George Bush sent a letter to all Crime Stoppers programs in the United States. In his letter, President Bush says "Every day, brave and slefless individulas step forward to protect their neighborhoods and keep fellow Americans safe. Since 1976, Crime Stoppers has worked with private citizens, media and law enforcement to prevent and solve crimes across our country. National Crime Stoppers Month is an opportunity to celebrate accomplishments and encourage others to join in the fight against crime.
I appreciate Crime Stoppers and all those who have answered the call to safeguard our communities. I also commend law enforcement personnel for your commitment to duty and for the sacrifices you make to serve others. you efforts help save lives and make our Nation a more secure and peaceful place."
